STRONG COFFEE STAGE COMPANY PRESENTS
“NEW YORK STORIES: SHORT PLAYS ABOUT LIFE &
DEATH IN THE BIG CITY”
Strong Coffee Stage Company, in collaboration with the Arts Council of
Windham County, presents as its premier production “NEW YORK STORIES: SHORT
PLAYS ABOUT LIFE & DEATH IN THE BIG CITY” featuring short plays by Joe
Pintauro, David Mamet, Daniel Meltzer and original works by Matt Maranian &
Bronwyn Sims. The performances are 8pm Friday, January 16 and Saturday,
January 17, with a 5pm performance on Sunday, January 18. The performances
are at the Hooker-Dunham Theater in Brattleboro, Vermont.
The plays, each about 10 minutes long, take a humorous and poignant look at
the lives of several very different New Yorkers, as they struggle for
success, argue about food, and mourn their losses. The plays are
INTERMISSION by Daniel Meltzer, TEN DOLLAR DRINKS, REX, and ROSEN”S SON by
Joe Pintauro, TWO CONVERSATIONS by David Mamet, SHIT by Matt Maranian and
TUNNEL by Bronwyn Sims. Artist Charles Win will exhibit New York themed
paintings in the lobby, and strong coffee will be served!
The production is directed by Rebecca Waxman, Adam Woolley, and Patrick
Donnelly and features performances by Jerry Levy, Matt Maranian, Kali Quinn,
Bronwyn Sims, Patrick Donnelly, Galen Caplis, Loretta Palazzo, Bradley
Poster, Jodi Baker and Rebecca Waxman. Technical Director is Harral
Hamilton, with Colin Epstein as Lighting Designer and Assistant Technical
Director. Loretta Palazzo and Sandy Klein are costume designers.
Strong Coffee Stage Company was founded in 2008 by Bronwyn Sims (Producing
Director) & Patrick Donnelly (Artistic Director), and is dedicated to
collaboration with artists and performers to create compelling theater and
to bring world class teachers and performers in-residence to work with the
community.
